Youth Aliyah – Child Rescue cares for abandoned and underprivileged children from all over the world in our five Youth Villages in Israel. These deprived children are all in need of a secure home and education because they have had to leave their homes and families. Most of them are young immigrants whose families are desperate to remove their children from a background of war, trauma, persecution and discrimination.

Many of them are orphans, others were found destitute in slums. There are Ethiopians who have seen their family members die on the long trek to Sudan. The Russian immigrants have often left their parents behind. They join Israeli children who carry their own burden – a broken home, with parents unable or unwilling to care for them. They are all brought up and educated in our five Village communities.

Today more than ever before in the movement’s history, Youth Aliyah’s task and raison d’être is the healing of broken pieces in these children’s lives. Still today, traumatized, psychologically damaged children come to Israel from all over the world. Dedicated, experienced staff in our Villages fulfil Youth Aliyah’s fundamental mission - the integration of immigrant and disadvantaged youth into the mainstream of Israeli society. When the youngsters leave the Village, they have grown into individuals, confident enough to make their own way in society and able offer a valuable contribution to the community.
